The 29th Syndicate Meeting of CUB reviewed academic progress, student intake and the Purbachal campus.
The 29th Syndicate Meeting of Canadian University of Bangladesh (CUB) was held with the participation of distinguished members of the Syndicate, senior academic and administrative officials of the University.
The meeting was chaired by Professor H. M. Jahirul Haque, Vice Chancellor (Nominated). Chowdhury Jafarullah Sharafat, Acting Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Mahbubur Rahman Patwary, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Education, and Major General Abul Kalam Md. Humayun Kabir (Retd.), UGC-nominated member, attended the meeting. The Registrar, Controller, Deans, and senior professors of the University were also present.
The Syndicate members expressed their great satisfaction with the significant progress in student admission and intake at CUB. They congratulated the Hon'ble Chairman and the Vice Chancellor (Nominated) for their valuable insights, strategic guidance and continued efforts toward ensuring a healthy student intake while maintaining the University's commitment to quality education.
The meeting discussed various important academic, administrative and institutional matters and emphasized strengthening CUB's academic environment, teaching quality and research activities.
The Syndicate members advised the Board of Trustees to recruit an iconic and academically distinguished professor for each department to provide strong academic leadership and further enhance the quality of teaching, research and academic development.
The members also emphasized the importance of expediting the development of CUB's permanent campus at Purbachal and advised the Board of Trustees to commence construction of the academic building at the permanent campus at the earliest.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to further strengthen CUB's academic excellence, institutional capacity and infrastructure, with the goal of establishing the University as a leading institution of higher education in Bangladesh.
