Short Biography
Ejab Mahmud is a Lecturer of English at the Canadian University of Bangladesh, where he teaches undergraduate courses in literature and language and contributes to course design, student supervision, and counselling. He earned both his B.A. in English and an M.A. in Literatures in English and Cultural Studies from Jahangirnagar University, graduating first in his master's cohort. Prior to his current appointment, he taught at City University and served as an Advanced Guitar Instructor at BRAC University.
His scholarly interests encompass postcolonial literature, cultural and subcultural studies, and interdisciplinary approaches to identity, representation, and social discourse. He has presented his research at several national and international academic conferences—on topics ranging from Caribbean poetry and comparative drama to Bangladeshi youth subcultures. Beyond literary research, he contributed to global climate policy discourse by translating the Bangladesh’s civil society position paper for COP30.
Beyond academia, he brings professional experience in e-learning & instructional design, digital media, scriptwriting, audiovisual production, and development communication, having worked with organizations including Save the Children in Bangladesh and ActionAid Bangladesh. Alongside as a guitarist, composer, and lyricist, he combines creative practice with digital pedagogy to foster an engaging, multidisciplinary learning environment.
