On November 4, 2024, the Department of Law at CUB held the semi-final and final rounds of the 3rd CUB Intra-Department Moot Court Competition, bringing together four skilled teams in intense mooting sessions at CUB’s Moot Court. The distinguished adjudication panel included Ali Mashraf, renowned mooter and Lecturer at East West University; Barrister Mahbubur Rahman, Associate Professor in the Department of Law at CUB and former Chief of CID; Mohammad Sunzad Sheikh, Head of the Department of Law at CUB; and several internal adjudicators, including Abdullah Al Jahid, Senior Lecturer and former Jessup Global Rounds participant. The adjudication system featured double peer reviews through the semi-finals and triple peer reviews in the final, with all memorials double-blind peer reviewed by two adjudicators each.

Following the competitive rounds, Team IMT 05, led by Jannatunnesa Jeba, claimed the Championship title, while Team IMT 02, led by Tanjiman Kaiser, took the runners-up position. Jeba was also awarded Best Oralist for her outstanding advocacy, and Md. Asif of Team IMT 03 received the Best Researcher award in recognition of his strong research contributions.

The award ceremony was honored by Guest of Honour Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Bhuian, former Advisor to the Department of Law, CUB, and currently Dean of the School of Law at IUB. Dr. Bhuian expressed pride in CUB’s progress in mooting, commending the participants for their dedication and achievements. The adjudicators and faculty members presented crests, medals, and certificates to the Champions, runners-up, Best Oralist, and Best Researcher, acknowledging their hard work and commitment.

This competition was organized by the CUB Law and Moot Club (CUBLMC) under the guidance of its Adviser, Mashrur Rahman Mahin, Lecturer in the Department of Law. The Department of Law at CUB congratulates all participants and remains committed to supporting the growth of future legal professionals.
