A significant workshop on psychological disorders recently took place at the CUB
The significant workshop, titled "Know Thyself: Understanding Mental Health” was organized at university's auditorium by CUB Mental Health Club in collaboration with the CUBBC.
This educational workshop occurred on 28th December 2023 in the auditorium of Canadian University of Bangladesh.
Ms. Nusrat Jahan Khan, a renowned Clinical Psychologist with an MS in Clinical Psychology from the University of Dhaka, delivered a keynote speech on breaking the silence around mental health and fostering a compassionate and informed community.
The workshop commenced at 11:00 AM with a welcoming address by Asst. Prof. Benazir Rahman, Advisor of the CUB Business Club (CUBBC).
Contributions were made by Prof. Dr. Md. Ridhwanul Haq, Senior Advisor (BoT), CUB; Prof. S.M. Arifuzzaman, Head of the Business School, CUB; Asst. Prof. Abdullah Al Mamun, Head of the English Department, CUB; Captain Towhid Bin Shafi, Planning Advisor (BoT), CUB.
Following a refreshment break, Ms. Nusrat Jahan Khan engaged with the audience, answering questions and conducting an interactive session on the 'Johari Window.'
Md. Kawsar Ahmed Asif, Advisor of the CUB Mental Health Club, who convened and presided over the workshop, highlighted the workshop's importance in raising awareness, providing education, and offering support to those facing mental health challenges.
CUB Mental Health Club (CUBMHC) seeks to enhance awareness, reduce stigma, and provide practical information on coping strategies and available resources. The aim is to encourage a journey towards self-discovery and personal growth.
The workshop concluded with a crest-giving ceremony and a photo session.
