    Mr. Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, Founder and Chairman of Canadian University of Bangladesh was conferred the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Commonwealth University, London. He has given the Certificate in a grandiose Convocation of the University on 15th December, 2016. Prof. Dr. Michael Addison, Vice Chancellor, Commonwealth University, London presented Mr. Nafeez the Certificate of the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).

    Canadian University of Bangladesh organizes a Seminar on 'Career in Law'

    School of Law, Canadian University of Bangladesh organized a Seminar on 'Career in Law' on January 14, 2017. Mr. Iqbal Mahmood, Chairman, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) was the Chief Guest in the event. Mr. Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, Founder and Chairman, Canadian University of Bangladesh conferred the vote of thanks at the event. Prof. Dr. William H. Derrenger, Vice Chancellor, Canadian University of Bangladesh inaugurated the seminar. Chief Guest Mr. Iqbal Mahmood said 'Law profession is a moral profession, law students should be morally aware. The important thing of the law profession is compliance with proper morality, in the light of experience gained the ability to discern the difference between social good and evil.' Prof. Dr. Atiur Rahman, Former Governor, Bangladesh Bank and Mr. Sheikh Kabir Hossain, Chairman, Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) were the Guests of Honor on the occasion. Dr. Uttam Kumar Das, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh and Program Officer, Social Dialogue and Industrial Relations (ILO) was the Speaker at the Seminar. Dr. Syed Sharfaraj Hamid, Associate Prof. and Head, School of Law convened the seminar. Prof. Dr. James Gomez, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Prof. M. A. Arafat, Chief Advisor to the Board of Trustees of Canadian University of Bangladesh were also present at the event. Chakri.com was strategic partner and Radio Dhoni was the media partner of this program. The seminar was organized for Graduates of Law to understand and distinguish the different sectors within the legal profession and services in the job market. As the Bangladesh economy grows and evolves, so has the legal profession and it's timely that prospective career seekers in law receive the necessary industry updates.     Canadian University of Bangladesh Holds Talk About Contribution of Private Universities in National Development

    A Round table discussion on 'Contribution of Private Universities in National Development: Opportunities and Challenges' was organized on Saturday (25 th June) morning at Dhaka Westin by Canadian University of Bangladesh. The discussion was enriched by the participation of Prof. Emeritus A.K. Azad Chowdhury, Prof. Emeritus Rafiqul Islam, Prof. Mesbah Kamal, Prof. Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullh, Prof. Sadeka Halim, Prof. Shafiul Alam Bhuyan, Prof. Zia Rahman, Prof. Jahirul Huque, Dr. Ashikur Rahman and Prof. Shamsul Haque. On behalf of Canadian University of Bangladesh VC (Designate) - Prof. William H. Derrenger, Treasure - Md. Faykuzzaman, Registrar - Mr. Shahreaar Ekram also participated in the discussion. The participants emphasized the importance of research productivity and infrastructure. They also emphasized importance of teaching Bangla language, national history and culture in private universities. The discussion was moderated by prominent analyst and educationist Mohammad A Arafat, Advisor to the Board of Trustee-Canadian University of Bangladesh. The program was rounded off with a vote of thanks by renowned sports commentator Chowdhury Zafarullah Sharafat, who is also the Vice Chairman - Board of Trustee of Canadian University of Bangladesh.

    Canadian University of Bangladesh starts Student and Faculty Exchange Program with North-Chiang Mai University, Thailand.

    Canadian University of Bangladesh students will now be able to apply to North-Chiang Mai University for a semester long study abroad program. The collaboration between the two universities will set the foundation for student and faculty exchange programs to take place. Canadian University of Bangladesh and North Chiang Mai hopes to start this initiative with the aim of broadening it's cultural knowledge and share information and resources for the betterment of their respective universities.
